Treatment Detail

According to Chinese Medicine, Qi circulates throughout your body in a series of pathways called meridians. Qi provides nourishment, support, and energy to every cell, tissue, muscle, and organ in the body. As we age, poor diet, digestion, and circulation, as well as, emotional and environmental stressors compromise our Qi and its ability to flow upwards to “lift” and brighten the face.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a protocol that involves shallow needling at specific points so the tip of the needle goes into the dermal layer of the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, and needling into specific muscle to re-tone and relax those muscles.

Treatment Frequency

Acupuncture is cumulative. Each treatment builds on the last. Most people will require a series of at least 10 – 20 treatments at a frequency of 1 – 2 times per week to achieve the best results. Some people continue treatment weekly until desired results are achieved, then maintenance is suggested once a month as prevention, or as needed.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses an oscillating cartridge that inserts 12 very fine short needles into the skin. This non-surgical treatment creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin. This micro-trauma triggers the body’s natural wound healing process and causes the fibroblasts to induce collagen and elastin production.

Microneedling affects the epidermis and the dermis, treating 0.25 – 2.0 mm deep. Depending on the depth of the needle penetration, this treatment can offer skin rejuvenation such as enhancing product absorption by 2000% and clinical treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, pores, scars and discoloration.

The ideal time of the year to receive this treatment is between October and May. After your treatment it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full results, and you must wait 4 weeks in between sessions to allow for proper healing.

Most people will require a series of 4 – 6 treatments to see your full results, and your skin may continue to build collagen for 3 – 6 months after your session. Studies show that collagen built could last up to 5 years!
